Jubilee Project
A magnificent row of sweet chestnut trees is to be planted in Central Park to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
The trees will complement the nearby avenue of red horse chestnuts which were planted 75 years ago to mark the Coronation of King George VI.
The new row will be planted along the main path leading from the Barn Park entrance to the Life Centre and there will be a commemorative panel at each end.
Organisations and companies are invited to participate in the project by donating £150. This will fund the purchase of trees and commemorative panels where the names of the project participants will be displayed.
Any additional funds raised will be used to replace missing trees in the avenue from the clock roundabout to Pennycomequick.
The planting work will be carried out in October 2012 and there will be a celebratory reception afterwards to which two representatives from each of the participating organisations and companies will be invited.

Commitment only is required at this stage and full payment will be requested during June 2012. The deadline for the payment of all donations is 31st of August 2012.
